Secondary Schoo l

The Secondary School of Forte da Casa opened its doors on October 6th, 1987 with grades 7, 8 and 9. There were of 4 classroom buildings plus administrative services, the direction of the school, the library,  the room for class directors and teachers, a bar /cafeteria, SASE services and a building for practical teaching of Physical Education.

Later the school also opened classes for 10th, 11th and 12th graders.

Over the course of eleven years the school offered day and evening classes. Then In 1993/94 another building was constructed to cope with the increasing growth of its students population and made it possible to offer day classes to 12th graders.

On August 1st, 2010, the Secondary School of Forte da Casa became a School Grouping by adding two local elementary schools.

Today,  working only during daytime hours,  this School grouping known as Agrupamento de Escolas do Forte da casa is attended by 1300 students,  distributed throughout different areas of studies, which are the Scientific-Humanistic Courses and the Vocational Courses.
